MLS home sales were down very slightly in June showing a decrease of three over the same period last year.
There were 2,332 active MLS listings compared to 2,253 in June 2009, said Christine Kemp.
"June saw a slight drop in MLS sales over may, however the Peterborough region is remaining on par with June sales numbers from the past two years.
Another month of increased waterfront sales in maintaining average sale prices for the region and although there were fewer residential sales in June, other sectors of the market are picking up," she states in a release.
"The increase of vacant land and industrial/commercial/investment purchases are a positive indicator of potential new business opportunities and development for the region."
"Mortgage rates are remaining very attractive and the inventory of properties available for sale is keeping pace with demand.
We are at a time in the market where things were just starting to recover locally last year and sales are remaining on par with those numbers indicating a stable market in the Peterborough region.
"After a surge of new listings seen across the country in May, we are starting to see a return to normal levels locally for this time of year with 612 new listings this June compared to 615 in June 2009," Kemp states in the release.
